Shadi Askari-Farhat created tbagslosangeles in 2001, when her hobby of hand-sewing handbags turned into an unexpected business opportunity. The designers creativity captured the attention of powerhouse retailers, Barneys Japan and Fred Segal, which enabled her to expand from handbags to ready-to-wear.
Now a coveted brand of A-list celebrities and top tier fashion publications, tbagslosangeles perfectly illustrates Shadi’s bohemian aesthetic. Unique, vibrant prints are debuted each season and have become a signature woven throughout each collection. The American-made brand is comprised of feminine, versatile pieces that combine Shadi’s ethnic background and Los Angeles upbringing. Today, Shadi’s global lifestyle brand has expanded from women’s RTW to include home décor, plus sized, maternity, and children’s fashion.
Shadi resides in her native Los Angeles with her husband Michael and their two daughters, Milla and Sayeh.
